IRAN

Rendered in the Mo'alla calligraphic style on a white ground, the text sits within a border of geometric arabesque patterning in gold and black. The contrast between the simplicity of the central script and the intricacy of the frame evokes a medallion of identity. Technique: velvet and gold leaf on canvas. Size: 20 x 24 in.
